President Chen Xianjin introduced the development history of national exhibition industry standardization and the achievements of the National Technical Committee for Exhibition Standardization over nearly ten years since its establishment. He also delivered a keynote report titled Supply-Side Reform and Standardization in the Exhibition Industry. He stated that standardization is a leading benchmark for China's exhibition industry as it moves from being a large country in the sector to becoming a strong one. It is also an institutional arrangement for transformation and upgrading, and a technical support for industry restructuring. Strengthening exhibition industry standardization will help support the Belt and Road Initiative and the Going Global strategy, optimize the layout of exhibition venues and improve venue service quality, promote green exhibitions and sustainable development, develop branded and specialized exhibition projects, and enable the market-oriented allocation of government resources.

Zhang Jian, vice president of Lingtong Exhibition System Co., Ltd.
Zhang Jian, vice president of Lingtong Exhibition System Co., Ltd., a vice-president organization of the association, discussed the development of standards for green and environmentally friendly booths with the attendees. He said that promoting this standard across the entire industry will be a long process, and that there is still a long way to go before pollution-free and waste-free exhibitions become widespread. However, once the standard is issued, it will send a green and environmental signal across the industry and provide reference and guidance for the green and sustainable development of the exhibition industry.
