The 2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference will be held from August 29 to 31 at the Shanghai World Expo Center and the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, with a branch venue at Xuhui Riverside. The main forum on the opening day, August 29, will be the highlight of this year's conference. As the conference approaches, details of the main forum are being released one after another. More than 300 speakers have already confirmed their participation.

So far, more than 300 speakers have confirmed participation in this year's conference. Confirmed speakers include Li Yong, director general of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization; Elon Musk, chief executive officer of Tesla; Raj Reddy, Turing Award winner, foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at Carnegie Mellon University; Tom Mitchell, the father of machine learning, dean of the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University and chief AI scientist of Squirrel AI Learning; and Juergen Schmidhuber, co-founder and chief scientist of NNAISENSE and scientific director of IDSIA.
The first-day agenda of this year's World Artificial Intelligence Conference consists of the opening ceremony, the main forum on industrial development and the main forum on scientific frontiers, with an emphasis on a high-end, international and professional comprehensive positioning.
Opening ceremony, morning of August 29
The morning opening ceremony will feature speeches and roundtable dialogues by government leaders, academic representatives and well-known entrepreneurs. Around the theme of Intelligent Connectivity, Infinite Possibilities, the ceremony will convey China's attitude, determination, responsibility and mission to share AI development opportunities with the world with an open mind and to build a community with a shared future for humanity.
A number of important achievements will also be released during the opening ceremony.

Main forums, afternoon of August 29
In the afternoon, the conference will continue around the theme and examine AI from multiple angles, including technology trends, application implementation, industrial ecology, talent development and public governance. Through the main forum on industrial development and the main forum on scientific frontiers, it will conduct comprehensive and in-depth discussions on cutting-edge technologies, key industries and important topics in the AI field, inspire industry thinking, promote technological and industrial innovation, and advance integrated global AI development.

At the main forum on industrial development, representatives from academia and well-known enterprises in China and abroad will use keynote speeches and roundtable dialogues to present the current state of industry development and the possible impact of technology in more concrete terms. Around topics such as industrial ecology, hardware support, platform building and public governance, they will discuss from an international perspective how AI can empower the whole business society, look ahead to AI development trends, identify industrial directions and jointly outline a blueprint for AI development.

The main forum on scientific frontiers will feature top scientists and technology leaders in AI from China and abroad. Through keynote speeches and high-level dialogues, it will focus on and explore the most advanced trends in AI technology, and share and discuss topics such as the current state of AI basic research, opportunities and challenges, and the core directions of future AI technology development.
