"Around the World in Four Corners: Photography Exhibition" will be held from January 2nd to March 10th, 2017, on the 94th floor of the "Shanghai Eye" observation hall, located within the Shanghai World Financial Center (423 meters).
The acclaimed "Four Lights Circle" photographic collective comprises eight outstanding Chinese photographers residing abroad. These photographers have traveled extensively, establishing themselves as a leading team in the field of world natural landscape photography. The eight members include: Yueheng Duan, John Fan, Yiming Hu (Cloud Wanderer), Victor Liu (A Liu), Jeffrey Wu (Jeff), Mei Xu (Dream Painting), Yan Zhang (Luo Jia Shan), and Jonathan Zhang (Beijing Zhang Zi). This distinguished group includes renowned Chinese photographers, professional judges from international photography organizations, editors of top-tier international photography magazines, and curators from prestigious international art galleries, all making significant contributions to the global photography community.
Each artwork featured in this photography exhibition is a unique and exceptional masterpiece. Eight photographers traveled extensively, covering over 1 million kilometers – equivalent to 25 circumferences around the Earth – to bring these 96 works and the world's extraordinary landscapes to your attention. Within the 94-meter exhibition hall, 88 original artworks are on display, each with a limited edition number and the artist's signature. All artworks have been personally overseen by Mr. Duan Yueheng, a twice recipient of the prestigious "Benny Award" in the printing industry, and meticulously printed on high-quality, acid-free Canson paper, ensuring that the artworks will retain their color for 150 years, achieving a collector-level standard.
This exhibition, in addition to showcasing works by renowned photographers and valuable photographic pieces, also offers a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes stories and anecdotes. Two smaller theaters will feature the latest photographic works of 8 members, which have not yet been released, and will also play video footage of the photographic process, revealing the stories behind the art.
Experienced photographers will have access to their preferred cameras. During the exhibition, Canon and SIGMA will provide visitors with the opportunity to experience their latest professional lenses, each of which represents a significant investment.
The exhibition also features a replica of the treehouse used by Jeff, where he spent over 40 hours in extreme heat, enduring temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius, to capture the valuable images of birds.
Additionally, this exhibition will feature unexpected supplementary releases, such as postcards with a quality comparable to a book, produced under the supervision of award-winning artist Duan Yueheng, as well as the debut of unique, globally exclusive, no-glue photo frames imported from the Netherlands.
