On the afternoon of February 21, Yang Zheng, executive deputy secretary of the Municipal Working Committee of Party and Government Departments, and other leaders visited the association for research and on-site guidance on the development of the exhibition industry. Zhu Xiang, Party Committee secretary for industry associations under the municipal-level organs, accompanied the visit. Chen Xianjin, secretary of the association's Party Committee, and all members of the Party Committee leadership team attended the discussion.
On behalf of the association's Party Committee, Secretary Chen Xianjin reported to Secretary Yang Zheng and the visiting leaders on the association's work. He introduced a series of efforts in actively responding to the epidemic, building an international exhibition capital, strengthening industry self-discipline and serving members. He focused on the difficulties and impact brought to Shanghai's exhibition industry by the two years of epidemic conditions, mainly reflected in a very short window for holding exhibitions, declining internationalization of exhibitions and increasing operational pressure on exhibition enterprises.
Chen Xianjin also reported on the Party Committee's work in raising political awareness, strengthening Party leadership, solidly carrying out education on the history of the Communist Party of China, New China, reform and opening up, and socialist development, and focusing on ideological development and improving Party member quality. He also reported that grassroots branches had earnestly implemented the Party Committee's arrangements, held themed Party Day activities, worked to solve practical problems for the public, and played the role of grassroots Party organizations as strong fighting units and Party members as pioneers and models.
Party Committee member Dai Xianjun, deputy general manager of Shanghai Xiesheng Exhibition Co., Ltd., reported on behalf of exhibition organizers and contractors. Party Committee member Yang Keke, general manager of Shanghai Lankai Exhibition Display Design Co., Ltd., made a supplementary report on behalf of exhibition display engineering service enterprises.

Executive Deputy Secretary Yang Zheng listened carefully to the Party Committee's report and fully affirmed its work. He said that the Party Committee had carried out its work in an orderly, vivid and rule-based manner. In the face of difficulties, the association's Party Committee had responded actively, withstood pressure and accepted challenges in adversity, playing a strong role in stabilizing the industry and the workforce.
Secretary Yang Zheng pointed out that the Party's advantages are reflected through its organizational system. The association's Party Committee should follow the requirements of full organizational and work coverage, build cohesion, leverage its strengths, continue to advance Party building work in a solid and effective way, expand the coverage and influence of Party building, and serve the industry, enterprises and the overall situation.
Secretary Yang Zheng also expressed the hope that the association's Party Committee would conscientiously implement Mayor Gong Zheng's remarks at the meeting of the leading group for promoting Shanghai's development as an international trade center, especially the requirement to promote the steady holding of exhibitions and sustain the vitality of commerce and trade. The association should raise its political stance, strengthen its sense of responsibility, actively play the role of an industry association, view difficulties objectively and calmly, work together from top to bottom, hold the safety bottom line, boost industry confidence, stabilize the industry workforce and promote industry development.
