The International Exhibition Industry CEO Shanghai Summit, hereinafter referred to as the Shanghai Summit, was founded in January 2014. It is positioned as a platform for exchange among senior industry figures at home and abroad, with senior executives from exhibition enterprises and institutions as the main speakers and invited participants, focusing on the development of China's exhibition industry.
The 2018 Shanghai Summit concluded successfully on June 22 at the InterContinental Shanghai NECC. With the theme of the Belt and Road and the international exhibition industry, this year's summit held high-level discussions on three major topics: the Belt and Road as a new element of exhibition industry globalization, bringing in and going global in a new era of exhibition development with Chinese characteristics, and the globalization of exhibition enterprises. More than 230 senior exhibition industry managers from 15 countries and regions attended, over 75 percent of whom were from exhibition organizers and contractors, venues, relevant government bodies and associations.
