Since 2015, the Shanghai Exhibition Industry Association has independently undertaken professional level certification work for the industry.

The lectures for the Shanghai Exhibition Management Professional Technical Level (Advanced) Training Course, which commenced on August 26, 2017, will last for three weekends, with two days per weekend, totaling six days of instruction from 16 instructors.

The instructors for September 2nd were: Lu Yi, Director of the Exhibition Industry Department of the Shanghai Municipal Commerce Commission; Hua Jian, Director of the Culture Industry Research Center of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences; and Sang Jingmin, Chairman of the China Beauty Expo.

Lu Yi presented on "Government Responsibilities in the Exhibition Market," covering three key aspects: adhering to simplified governance, integrating regulation and management, and optimizing services, focusing on "four persistent principles and four key efforts." These principles and efforts aim to maintain simplified governance, transform functions, focus on stimulating market vitality, adhere to institutional primacy and regulate industry order, protect brand strategies and intellectual property rights, and optimize development patterns.

Hua Jian presented on "New Trends in the Exhibition Industry," analyzing four aspects: new opportunities arising from new demands in the exhibition industry, the rise of urban-type industries, and the continuous upgrading of consumption in the new era, summarizing the new opportunities brought by industrial transformation and consumption upgrades. She also proposed the "channel and monetization," "derivative and traffic," and "content and display" model as the golden triangle for driving the exhibition industry in the new situation, and explained the key points of the exhibition industry golden triangle model through a Japanese Nagoya city promotion video. Finally, she summarized four key measures: grasping new growth points, targeting "wind-up pigs," integrating new technological achievements to develop derivative product chains, and effectively implementing measures.

Sang Jingmin presented on "Strategic Thinking for Meeting Customer Needs," covering two aspects: defining strategy. He clarified the definition of strategy from four aspects: basic characteristics, content, and characteristics. He also proposed four questions that exhibition companies must answer when developing a strategic plan, revealing the core idea of "customer-centricity." Finally, he pointed out that innovation is the most effective manifestation of power management principles.
