On November 15, BetonTage asia 2016, an important summit held concurrently with the Shanghai International Building Industrialization and Advanced Building Technology Exhibition, known as BIC, was grandly held in Shanghai. Taking this opportunity, the organizer Shanghai VNU Exhibitions Co., Ltd., or VNU, announced the official launch of the Shanghai International Interior Industrialization Exhibition. Zhu Zhongyi, former vice president of the China Real Estate Association; Zhang Nailing, vice president and secretary-general of the China Building Decoration Materials Association; Xue Xuexuan, director of the Information Center of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Sichuan Province; Wei Suwei, deputy chief architect of the China Institute of Building Standard Design and Research; Liu Gang, director of the CSP Research and Promotion Center of China Architecture Design and Research Group; Yan Junjie, chairman of Heneng Human Settlement Technology; VNU president Zhong Gang; and many leaders from government, associations and society witnessed this historically significant moment. It also marked a new opportunity for the development of building industrialization: interior industrialization.
From building industrialization to integrated interiors, industry resource integration is imperative.
As the most influential building industrialization exhibition in East China, BIC has been successfully held for three editions and has become a leading platform that effectively promotes domestic and international exchange and cooperation in the industry. In 2014, at the beginning of strong government promotion of building industrialization, BIC focused on integrated building design, engineering and construction, displaying industrialized building design, AEC integrated solutions and prefabricated PC structural systems. In 2015, under the theme building information, data flow and automation, it truly brought the construction industry into the Industry 4.0 era. In 2016, while continuing to develop its original sectors, BIC successfully expanded into prefabricated steel structures and modular buildings, and highlighted the path from structure to interior, and from industrialized production to standardized construction.

Throughout its development, BIC has occupied the technological high ground, stayed at the forefront of the industry, and received strong recognition from government departments as well as upstream and downstream enterprises. According to relevant statistics, professional visitor attendance at this year's BIC reached 29,569, an increase of 23.8 percent year on year. Most visitors were more willing to stop at booths related to modular buildings and other concepts involving integrated interiors.

BIC is gradually entering a mature and stable stage of development. While achieving breakthrough results, it continues to look ahead. In 2017, BIC will enter a new stage of development along with the modernization of the construction industry. To meet strong market demand for building industrialization, system diversification and integrated interiors, and to address the transformation and upgrading challenges faced by real estate developers, construction groups and architectural design organizations, a more practical and effective platform for technical exchange and business trade is needed. The 2017 Shanghai International Interior Industrialization Exhibition, organized by Shanghai VNU Exhibitions Co., Ltd., has therefore emerged. Its main exhibits will include storage systems, integrated kitchens, quick-install wall systems, integrated bathrooms, lightweight partition walls and keel ceiling systems within the interior or infill system. It will be held concurrently with the BIC Shanghai International Building Industrialization Exhibition at the National Exhibition and Convention Center from October 30 to November 1, 2017.
Three systems join forces to reshape the market and open a new era for the construction industry.
The Shanghai International Building Industrialization Exhibition and the Interior Industrialization Exhibition will fully cover the life cycle from architectural design and factory manufacturing to interior fit-out and construction integration. With the building structural system, external envelope system and interior or infill system as three major sectors, the exhibitions will better present a complete housing construction process in which the upstream and downstream industrial chain cooperates, supports and constrains each other.
In the future, the Shanghai International Building Industrialization Exhibition and Interior Industrialization Exhibition will organize relevant domestic government departments and leading enterprises to visit Germany in February and Japan in June, inspecting classic prefabricated building projects in multiple countries and regions. This will help domestic construction groups, design institutes, component manufacturers and other enterprises broaden their international perspectives, learn from representative industrialized building design and advanced product manufacturing technologies, understand the development paths of leading overseas companies, and strengthen cooperation, exchange and communication with countries strong in building industrialization.
In March next year, the organizer will hold a whole-house customization summit forum in Shanghai, where material suppliers and interior designers will discuss design, exchange ideas and explore cooperation. To expand regional influence and help enterprises enter western and South China markets, the organizer will work with strong local resources to add two sub-stations in Chengdu and Shenzhen. These will be held in May and July in the form of conferences plus exhibitions, creating synergy with the Shanghai International Building Industrialization Exhibition and Interior Industrialization Exhibition. Together they will build a resource integration platform for building and interior industrialization and jointly create the next brilliant era of the construction industry.
The Shanghai International Building Industrialization Exhibition, together with the Shanghai International Interior Industrialization Exhibition, will move to the National Exhibition and Convention Center Shanghai from October 30 to November 1, 2017. We look forward to meeting you again.
After the launch ceremony, VNU president Zhong Gang was interviewed by mainstream industry media including Yicai, Tencent, NetEase, Sohu, Sina, CASA Home and Construction Times on the future development of the construction industry and interior industrialization.
