Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province – December 28, 2023 (Reporter: Yan Hongfeng, Correspondent: Liu Yang) – The Fourth Hangzhou China Ink Exhibition opened on December 28th in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. This exhibition has established the academic theme of "Celebrating the Natural World," utilizing "Zheng Tang Hua" (Central Hall Painting) as the artistic medium. The exhibition aims to showcase the unique cultural value and traditional appreciation of "Zheng Tang Hua," explore its spiritual essence, and examine the innovative development of contemporary Chinese painting based on traditional styles. Furthermore, it seeks to investigate the close relationship between ethnic minority painting and the construction of Chinese culture, and to recreate the classic timeline of Chinese art development, thereby promoting the development of contemporary Chinese painting.

"Central Hall Paintings" refer to large-scale calligraphy and painting artworks displayed prominently in the central hall of a building. Evolving from traditional scroll paintings, these became a significant style in Chinese calligraphy and painting from the Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China. "Central Hall Paintings" not only reflect the diverse evolution of Chinese calligraphy and painting, but also convey the ethical values of Chinese people.

The exhibition is divided into three thematic areas: "Wind – Nostalgia," "Refinement – Elegant Style," and "Praise – Authentic Expression," each showcasing a different perspective on traditional Chinese art, including: * "Wind – Nostalgia": Exploring themes of homesickness and folk imagery beyond traditional artistic conventions. * "Refinement – Elegant Style": Presenting the refined aesthetics and contemporary sensibilities of new writers, reflecting the spirit of the times. * "Praise – Authentic Expression": Showcasing works that express patriotic sentiments and familial devotion. The exhibition features 256 outstanding Chinese paintings created by artists under the theme of "Authentic Imagery."
