Qingpu is located in a key position for Shanghai's connection with the Yangtze River Delta city cluster. With the development and construction of the Greater Hongqiao area and the completion and operation of National Exhibition and Convention Center, Qingpu's location advantages have become more prominent, and the strategy of using the exhibition industry to drive regional economic development has become increasingly important. How to reasonably plan the spatial layout of exhibition industry development, how to improve the industry chain and expand its driving effect, and how to improve the business, policy, talent and public service environment for the exhibition industry are important issues facing Qingpu's economic community. They are also part of the efforts of the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association to promote the building of an international exhibition capital.

On April 27, under the guidance of the Qingpu District Economic Commission and hosted by the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association, the seminar on the exhibition industry and Qingpu regional economic development was held at the smart office studio of Hongqiao World Center. Participants included Wang Lingyu, deputy district mayor of Qingpu District; Chen Xianjin, president of the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association; Zhang Zhongwei, director of the Planning Division of the Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission; Lu Yi, deputy director of the Exhibition Industry Division of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce; Zhu Yaowu, director of the Qingpu District Economic Commission; leaders from exhibition industry authorities in Hangzhou, Wuhu, Nanjing, Nanchang, Ningbo, Yuyao and other Yangtze River Delta areas; officials from relevant Qingpu District government departments; and managers from some Shanghai exhibition enterprises. More than 80 people attended the seminar.

Zhang Zhongwei, director of the Planning Division of the Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission, delivered a keynote speech interpreting Shanghai's Thirteenth Five-Year Plan.

Zhu Yaowu, director of the Qingpu District Economic Commission, delivered a keynote speech on prospects for Qingpu's exhibition industry.

Wang Baode from the Planning and Development Department of National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai, delivered a keynote speech on leveraging comprehensive format advantages and enhancing economic driving effects.

Wang Xijing, deputy general manager of Shanghai West Hongqiao Business Development Co., Ltd., gave a report on the regional business environment.

Zhang Dongliang, marketing director for Hongqiao World Center of Greenland Business Division II, gave a report on smart office, hotel and headquarters office at Hongqiao World Center.

Ji Lude, secretary-general of the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association, moderated the seminar.

The seminar was guided by the Qingpu District Economic Commission and hosted by the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association, with strong support from Shanghai West Hongqiao Business Development Co., Ltd. and Greenland Hongqiao World Center.

As National Exhibition and Convention Center becomes increasingly mature in operation, the exhibition industry is playing a crucial role in Qingpu. Whether in terms of business environment or government support, Qingpu District will provide strong support for the development of exhibition enterprises.

Shanghai West Hongqiao Business Development Co., Ltd.

West Hongqiao Business District is one of the four functional expansion areas of Hongqiao Business District. The overall planned area of Hongqiao Business District is about 86 square kilometers, and West Hongqiao Business District is the Qingpu section of Hongqiao Business District, with an overall planned area of about 19 square kilometers.
