Since 2016, the municipal vocational ability examination authority has no longer organized examinations for several technical level certifications, including exhibition management. To implement the spirit of the Overall Plan for Decoupling Industry Associations and Chambers of Commerce from Administrative Organs issued by the General Office of the Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council in July 2015, which called for fully leveraging the role of industry associations and chambers of commerce in industry guidance and talent development, and the State Council's Opinions on Further Promoting the Reform and Development of the Exhibition Industry issued in April 2015, which encouraged industry organizations to provide personnel training services to enterprises, support exhibition talent development and improve the overall level of practitioners, the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association organized the Exhibition Management, Junior Level, Docent Certification Training Program to improve the professional competence of Shanghai exhibition industry personnel. From 2017 onward, certification examination results will be published online.
