On November 24, 2025, the themed salon Exhibition Safety Empowerment and Green Exhibition Development was successfully held at the Members' Home of the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association.
Shanghai's exhibition industry is currently accelerating its recovery. Safety is the prerequisite for development, and green development is the direction of transformation. Enterprises need to uphold the principle of putting people and life first, implement the principle that whoever organizes an event is responsible for it, and ensure that venues, organizers and service enterprises each fulfill their duties. At the same time, the association advocates following group standards for green exhibitions and promoting modular, reusable materials to reduce waste. The association will promote excellent practices and support the industry's low-carbon transformation.
The salon was chaired by Tu Jianqing, deputy Party Committee secretary and secretary-general of the association. More than 40 responsible persons from organizers such as Shanghai Sinoexpo Informa Markets International Exhibition Co., Ltd. and Kingkey Exhibition Group, the Exhibition Engineering Professional Committee and related service enterprises gathered to exchange views in depth on core issues of exhibition safety management and green transformation, building consensus for the high-quality development of Shanghai's exhibition industry.

This provided practical reference for strengthening the industry's safety line.
Huang Bei, Asia sustainable development manager of Informa Group, shared green exhibition practices. She introduced the group's Better Stands green booth optimization program, which promotes reusable booths and establishes bronze, silver and gold grading standards. While reducing exhibition waste by 80 percent, it also improves safety, efficiency and customer experience. The program has now covered more than 400 exhibitions in 37 countries worldwide and has been recognized by many exhibitors, providing a replicable implementation model for the industry's green transformation.
