On January 17, in accordance with the spirit of relevant remarks by city leaders, the Exhibition Industry Division of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association jointly organized exhibition organizers, contractors and other enterprises to visit Fuxing Island for research. The delegation was warmly received by the Yangpu District Commerce Commission.

The group visited core areas including Fuxing Market and the South Shipyard, experiencing up close the integration of century-old industrial heritage and frontier art. Under the giant crane at the shipyard park, they learned about typical practices for revitalizing industrial heritage and experienced the integrated appeal of the digital intelligence island, design art island and people's city island.

Representatives then held an exchange meeting. By watching promotional videos about Yangpu District and Fuxing Island, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the area's development background and unique resources. Riverside Group gave a detailed presentation on Fuxing Island's planning orientation, development potential and cooperation opportunities. Relevant officials from the Yangpu District Commerce Commission introduced progress and support policies for integrating exhibitions and commerce in the riverside area.

Sang Jingmin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association, said that Fuxing Island's creation of distinctive events such as light and shadow festivals and music festivals uses culture and art as a link to activate the potential value of space. This innovative practice has strong demonstration significance and provides valuable experience that can be learned from, replicated and promoted for scene innovation and efficient cross-sector resource integration in the exhibition industry.

Shi Chen, Director of the Exhibition Industry Division of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, summarized the activity. She hoped that exhibition enterprises would actively transform the research results into exhibition planning practice, jointly participate in the development of Fuxing Island's integrated system of digital intelligence island, design art island and people's city island, and help Shanghai's exhibition industry and urban renewal progress in coordinated development.
