In 2021, Shanghai held 542 exhibitions of various types, down 1.46 percent year on year, with a total exhibition area of 10.8602 million square meters, down 1.97 percent year on year.
Among them, 142 international exhibitions were held, down 21.55 percent year on year, with an exhibition area of 9.3284 million square meters, down 6.76 percent year on year; 341 domestic exhibitions were held, up 32.17 percent year on year, with an exhibition area of 1.2263 million square meters, down 26.47 percent year on year.
During the year, 31 exhibitions exceeded 100,000 square meters in scale, with a combined exhibition area of 5.9445 million square meters, up 25.46 percent year on year and accounting for 58.30 percent of the city's total exhibition area. Among them, six exhibitions exceeded 300,000 square meters, with a combined scale of 2.0891 million square meters, up 205.46 percent year on year and accounting for 20.49 percent of the city's total exhibition area. Both the number and scale had recovered to the level of the same period in 2019.
