From September 28 to 30, SIAL China, an influential innovative food exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region under Comexposium Group, was successfully held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The exhibition covered 100,000 square meters, with more than 2,200 exhibitors displaying over 200,000 products on site and attracting more than 100,000 professional visitors. Digital empowerment was a highlight of this edition, including smart matching between exhibitors and visitors, live streaming on online platforms, and live product sales by influencers with tens of millions of followers. A wide range of on-site activities and forums, including the SIAL Innovation competition, Global New Retail Summit, Supply Chain Conference, La Cuisine cooking demonstrations and key-buyer matchmaking meetings, once again confirmed SIAL China's market position as a leading food and beverage trade platform in the Asia-Pacific region.

Elaine Chia, chief executive officer for Asia Pacific of Comexposium Group, said that, given the current international political and economic situation, the Chinese government has proposed gradually forming a new development pattern in which the domestic cycle is the mainstay and the domestic and international cycles promote each other. Under the epidemic, SIAL China, with a 20-year history, will become a window for the food and beverage industry to build this dual-circulation pattern. Through a series of innovative measures, Comexposium will continue to expand the spillover and driving effects of SIAL China and bring more online and offline business communication and mutually beneficial opportunities to the food and beverage industry in China and around the world.

Since China's exhibition market restarted in June this year, several Comexposium events have been successfully held in succession, including Interfiliere Shenzhen, the National Food Expo in Jinan, the China International Sugar, Wine and Food Trade Fair in Nanjing, and the China Stationery Fair.

Elaine Chia said that 2020 has been full of difficulties and challenges for everyone, and the exhibition industry has been among the first to face the impact. The successful restart of Comexposium's projects in China could not have happened without its teams in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Zhuhai, Jinan and Hefei. Facing the epidemic, each team remained at its post and kept striving. They quickly developed online and offline solutions according to market feedback and customer needs, creatively launched an intelligent business matching system, and actively practiced a content-oriented exhibition model. All these efforts produced better-than-expected performance data for the exhibition projects.

In November, Comexposium will also hold RemaxWorld, the China International Office Equipment and Consumables Exhibition in Zhuhai, the China International Sugar, Wine and Food Trade Fair in Nanjing, and the China International Sugar, Wine and Food Trade Fair in Anhui. The China Hotpot Industry Chain Expo and the 7th Qilu Hotpot Festival in December are also in intensive preparation.
