The International Exhibitions Association (UFI) and the UFI China Club jointly released the "Survey Report on the Impact of the Novel Coronavirus on UFI China Members" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"). The Report indicates that...UFI member-organized exhibitions with delayed or cancelled dates in February-March totaled 2,909,850 square meters, encompassing 55 events. A total of 158 events, organized by UFI venue members, were either delayed or cancelled.
On January 25th, UFI (The International Association of Exhibition and Convention Centres) conducted a survey among international exhibition organizers regarding their responses to the novel coronavirus pandemic, in collaboration with SISO and AEO. Simultaneously, the UFI China Club initiated a survey of UFI China members. This involved distributing questionnaires and compiling information gathered through online channels.This survey involved a total of 61 UFI China member organizers and 27 UFI China venue members.
"The report indicates that member organizers postponed or cancelled 55 events between February and March. Of these, 2 were international events, while 53 were postponed. The total net area covered by these events amounted to 2,909,850 square meters. Regionally,The Eastern and Southern China regions experienced the highest number of exhibitions affected by the pandemic, with 20 exhibitions each. The Southern China region also had the largest net area affected by postponed exhibitions, exceeding 1,500,000 square meters.Additionally, during February and March, 27 venue members collectively postponed or cancelled 158 events."The provinces of Hubei and Guangdong have been significantly impacted by the pandemic, resulting in the postponement or cancellation of over 20 exhibitions."
Finally,UFIKey measures taken by Chinese members in response to the pandemic, as evidenced by member feedback, include: communication and coordination regarding the postponement of the exhibition.**Hygiene Measures for Office Areas and Exhibition Venues**Key priorities for member organizations include providing support and resources for members regarding employment matters and employee well-being.
