On December 27, 2019, the third meeting of the joint conference of provincial convention and exhibition industry associations was held at Hangzhou International Expo Center. More than 40 representatives from over 30 provincial-level convention and exhibition industry associations in Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Beijing, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Hubei, Hunan, Hainan, Inner Mongolia, Fujian, Ningxia, Guangxi, Anhui, Hebei, Henan and other regions attended. The meeting was organized by the Guangdong Convention and Exhibition Organizing Enterprises Association, the Zhejiang International Convention and Exhibition Industry Association and the Zhejiang Convention and Exhibition Industry Association. The 6th Voice of International Exhibition Organizers Summit Forum and the 2019 annual meeting of the Guangdong Convention and Exhibition Organizing Enterprises Association were held concurrently from December 26 to 28.

The meeting was chaired by Wang Bingwen, executive vice president of the Zhejiang Convention and Exhibition Industry Association. Chen Xianjin, honorary president of UFI and director of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of the Exhibition Industry, delivered remarks and provided direction for the future development of the joint conference.

Sang Jingmin, president of the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association, shared the development history and successful experience of the association under the theme of innovation-driven development and the association moving forward. Chen Fangxu, president of the Hainan MICE and Exhibition Industry Association, spoke on promoting association development through resource integration, using many cases to show how the association has kept pace with the times since its establishment and explored integration and cooperation with different industry entities, provincial and municipal governments, market players, media, universities and national peer associations. Tang Qiang, vice president and secretary-general of the Jiangsu Convention and Exhibition Industry Association, presented relevant data on Jiangsu's exhibition industry, its positioning and the development trend of Jiangsu's exhibition economy under the theme of promoting association development through regional linkage. Ren Guoyan, executive vice president of the Zhejiang Convention and Exhibition Industry Association, discussed basic conditions of Zhejiang's exhibition industry, association services, the characteristics of county-level exhibition economy in Zhejiang, association services for county-level exhibition economy and development positioning. Yao Jun, executive president of the Hubei Exhibition Industry Chamber of Commerce, shared how the association improves cohesion and vitality through activities.

The joint conference also included a summit dialogue. Li Yong, honorary president of the Sichuan Convention and Exhibition Industry Association, served as moderator. Zhang Ling, executive deputy secretary-general of the Beijing International Convention and Exhibition Industry Association; Wu Changjiang, secretary-general of the Hubei Exhibition Economy Development Promotion Association; Xing Shouning, president of the Ningxia International Convention and Exhibition Industry Association; and Li Baoer, vice president of the Zhejiang International Convention and Exhibition Industry Association, discussed the challenges and innovation of provincial convention and exhibition industry associations.




Participants said the meeting was rich in content, fresh in viewpoints and highly rewarding. It also strengthened ties among exhibition colleagues and built valuable friendships. The meeting fully discussed the future development of the joint conference and preparations for establishing a national federation of convention and exhibition industry chambers and associations. It is reported that the fourth meeting will be convened by the Jiangsu Convention and Exhibition Industry Association.
