Since 2007, the Shanghai Exhibition Industry Association has conducted qualification assessments for exhibition engineering companies within the industry, a practice that has been ongoing for twelve years. These qualifications have been recognized by industry peers in Shanghai, the Yangtze River Delta region, and throughout the country.

As the exhibition industry continues to evolve, the market for exhibition engineering has become increasingly specialized, and the technologies and formats used in exhibition projects have also undergone significant changes. To ensure that the core criteria – the "Regulations for Assessing the Qualification Level of Exhibition Engineering Enterprises" – remain aligned with the current market trends, the Association initiated a revision of the original "Regulations" starting in 2018. This involved comprehensive research and the release of a draft of the "Regulations" in early 2019.

In April 2019, the Association held a thematic salon to discuss the draft regulations, soliciting feedback and opinions from businesses and industry experts. Subsequently, the Association engaged in multiple discussions with experts, and, in conjunction with sample data from participating companies over the past several years, conducted a detailed review of the draft regulations with a third-party evaluation agency. The final version was officially approved.

From the second half of 2019, the association's "Shanghai Exhibition Industry Display Engineering Enterprise Qualification" material requirements and assessment process will be implemented according to the "Revised Provisions." All display engineering companies should refer to the "Revised Provisions" when preparing their materials.
