Eastday reporter Cheng Qi reported on November 8 that the 83rd UFI Global Congress, an important conference for the exhibition industry, will be held in Shanghai from November 9 to 12. Industry leaders, CEOs, young leaders and senior international experts from more than 40 countries will discuss the rapidly developing exhibition industry.

The congress will be hosted by the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association and held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. The four-day event will be open to all UFI members. UFI's then president Sergey Alexeev said this year's annual congress hoped to exchange views on what is changing the industry, with particular attention to the ideas of the younger generation and to how young people navigate the wave of change.

It is understood that the congress will take The Chain Reaction: Transforming the Exhibition Industry as its theme and will directly address many changing realities in the industry. Ayesha Khanna, a smart-city and education strategy expert and keynote speaker, will deliver a speech on ripples and chain reactions.

In addition, five young 2016 UFI Next Generation Leaders will take the stage. They come from Germany, India, Iran, Turkey and the United States, and will share their views with participants on breaking traditional rules and on the future development of the exhibition industry.

The congress will also arrange a wide range of flexible sessions, providing every delegate with opportunities to participate in different topics. Big data analysis, audience demand and project operation will all be discussed from an organizer's perspective, addressing issues of health, safety, stability and development at both strategic and operational levels in the industry.

In the panel discussions, delegates will also be able to exchange views based on their own experiences and broaden their perspectives. During the venue seminar, the CEO of Fiera Milano in Italy, the CEO of Messe Muenchen in Germany, the chairman of Shenyang New World in China and senior exhibition industry professionals will share their analysis of future operating models for large venues.

The congress will continue to present the 2016 UFI awards, including best practices in education, marketing, technology and sustainable development. During the congress, the winners will show how they achieved success in these areas.

It is reported that, in addition to the main agenda, the UFI Global Congress will also include a rich variety of other events and meetings, such as the UFI Board of Directors meeting, UFI General Assembly, UFI CEO meeting, UFI regional chapter meetings, UFI Associations Committee meeting and UFI Marketing Committee meeting. After this congress, Andreas Gruchow will succeed Sergey Alexeev as UFI president for the next term.
