In the first half of 2016, Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center pursued progress with stability and became increasingly steady in exhibitions, conferences and events. By June, the center had hosted 64 exhibitions, 87 conferences and 17 performances and events, receiving 1.4 million visits and maintaining double-digit high-speed growth compared with the same period last year. Its international conferences were outstanding and its performances and events were diverse. High-end conferences such as the China, Zhengzhou, World Tourism Cities Market Forum, the Second International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference and Transnational Technology Transfer Conference in Zhengzhou, and the Henan Investment and Trade Fair were all successfully held at the center. At the same time, concerts including Fish Leong's Your Name Is Love and Jolin Tsai's world tour brought star appeal. Zhengzhou is gradually becoming a well-known international exhibition city in central and western China, and Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center is bringing more exhibition elements to the city.

Exhibitions in Zhengzhou

Exhibitions are held in Zhengzhou and rely on local exhibition enterprises. The exhibition-hosting industry in Zhengzhou has clear sector characteristics, mainly covering automobiles and transport, real estate, building and decoration, education, training and art, machinery and industrial processing, home appliances, household products and general sectors. According to statistics, in the first half of 2016, exhibitions in automobiles and transport and in real estate, building and decoration covered 497,000 square meters, accounting for 41 percent of the city's total exhibition area. The exhibitions held at Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center in the first half of the year also showed strong characteristics. The 2016 Dahe Spring Auto Show and the 2016 Fifth Central Plains International Auto Show became preferred events for Zhengzhou residents and auto dealers to buy and sell cars. In the second half of the year, the Dahe Autumn Auto Show and the 2016 Ninth Zhengzhou International Auto Show were ready to launch, adding further momentum to Zhengzhou's automobile and transport exhibitions. As a consumer exhibition, the 2016 Zhengzhou Consumer Goods Expo carried the banner for consumer goods exhibitions. In the second half of the year, the 22nd Zhengzhou National Commodity Fair in 2016 was scheduled to meet Zhengzhou residents in October.

Taking advantage of the Belt and Road strategy and the construction of the airport economy experimental zone, and following the expectations of building a modern international trade city and buying globally and selling globally, Zhengzhou is gradually developing modern commerce, logistics and exhibition industries by relying on the opening of the China-Europe Railway Express from Zhengzhou and its advantage as the central node of China's star-shaped high-speed rail network. In 2016, the Third Zhengzhou International Logistics Exhibition was held at Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. It was jointly organized by the Henan Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, Henan Road Transport Association, Henan International Freight Forwarders Association, Henan HVAC Refrigeration and Energy Saving Association, Messe Muenchen Shanghai Co., Ltd. and Haiming International Exhibition Group, and undertaken by Zhengzhou Haiming Huibo Exhibition Planning Co., Ltd. The exhibition covered more than 20 industries including logistics, express delivery, e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, automobile manufacturing, machinery processing and supermarket chains. In the future, logistics, warehousing and transport exhibitions will become a new advantageous exhibition sector for Zhengzhou.

High-quality exhibitions bring more than brand effects to a convention and exhibition center. They also drive the vigorous development of related industries. On June 29, 2016, the 13th China, Zhengzhou, International Automotive Aftermarket Expo, known as CIAAF, concluded successfully. After 13 years of development, CIAAF has grown into the largest and strongest mid-year automotive aftermarket brand event and one of the three major aftermarket exhibitions. The exhibition attracted professional visitors from the automotive aftermarket across the country. During the four-day event, visits exceeded 300,000, including more than 100,000 professional buyers. The exhibition featured attractive themed zones such as auto modification, auto maintenance and repair, automotive accessories, automotive electronics, auto supplies, beauty care and maintenance, making CIAAF a miniature display of the full automotive aftermarket category.

One important indicator of a high-quality exhibition is orderliness. With the support and cooperation of Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center and the work of a large number of security personnel, audience admission remained orderly. The venue strengthened volume control to avoid mutual interference, and real-time broadcasts guided visitors in arranging their entry and visit schedules. As a result, the exhibition was orderly, high-end and impressive.
