National Exhibition Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in July 2011, and is a joint venture between the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and East Hao Lan Sheng International Service Trade (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "East Hao Lan Sheng Group"). The company was formed according to the framework agreement between the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal Government for the development of national exhibition projects, with CCPIT holding 60% and East Hao Lan Sheng Group holding 40%. This joint venture highlights the combined resources and operational strengths of the exhibition industry. CCPIT has extensive experience in organizing the annual China Import and Export Fair (also known as the Canton Fair), while East Hao Lan Sheng Group is the first professional service trade group in China, and played a significant role in the organization and hosting of the Shanghai World Expo. Their years of market-oriented operations have created advantages in human resources, exhibition promotion, and trade services.
The total construction area of the National Exhibition Project is 1.47 million square meters, with 400,000 square meters of indoor exhibition halls and 100,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition areas. It also includes 150,000 square meters of commercial center, 180,000 square meters of office facilities, and 60,000 square meters of five-star hotel. The project is designed to become the largest, most advanced, and most competitive exhibition complex in the world.
